Kathleen Gerard is a writer whose work has been nominated for and awarded many literary prizes including The Saturday Evening Post "Great American Fiction" Prize, The William Faulkner-William Wisdom Prize, The Mark Twain House Humor Prize, The Erma Bombeck Writing Award, Best New American Voices, and Short Story America

Kathleen writes across genres. Her short prose and poetry have been widely published in magazines, literary journals, and anthologies. Her essays have been featured in The Wall Street Journal and broadcast on National Public Radio (NPR).  Several of Kathleen's plays have been staged and performed regionally and off-Broadway. Kathleen has served as a contributing columnist to Our Sunday Visitor and Catholic Twin Circle magazines, as well as The Record (NJ) newspaper.

Kathleen's novel, IN TRANSIT won The New York Book Festival - "Best Romantic Fiction" category. Her novella COLD COMFORT is a heartwarming story about the bonds of family, old flames, food, and Thanksgiving. And THE THING IS, a romantic comedy, is centered on a crafty therapy dog named Prozac that rescues a woman in grief.

In addition, Kathleen's prize-winning fine art photographs are held in private collections, have been regionally and nationally exhibited and widely published.
